This year’s Red Ribbon Week, Life is Journey, Travel Drug Free!, is being overseen by Ms. Dillard. Dillard was hand pick by Mrs. Stephanie Smith, Dallas County’s newest High School principal. Dillard says, “I was asked by Principal Smith to help with the Red Ribbon Week here at DCHS.” She plans on spreading awareness by proposing these drug free themes. Monday- Wear Red Day, Tuesday-Put a Cap on Drugs (hat day), Wednesday-Put a Sock on Drugs (sock day), Thursday-Shade Out Drugs (sunglasses), and Friday-Be on a Drug Free Team (Team Gear). There will also be a door decoration contest to help bring awareness. The class with the best door will receive a pizza party. Moreover, Dillard isn’t the only staff member to help with Red Ribbon week. Dorothy Moore, Penny Bonds, Rene Pouncey, Willie Washington, Yolanda Thompkins, Harrison Smith, and co- chairman Chris Harrell are also involved in preparing for the upcoming week. This year’s Red Ribbon week is being held October 22-26th this year. Everything is expected to go smoothly and turn out as a fantastic red ribbon week.
